First Aid & Recover At Work (Injury and Disability Management)

A critical step that is often overlooked in an Injury and Disability Program Management is the first step: First Aid.

Your First Aid Attendant should be thoroughly educated on your Recover at Work Program, and be prepared to assess the workers injury and provide an educated, immediate and appropriate Offer of Light Duties. While REC isn’t qualified to provide Occupational First Aid Attendant education (yet!), what we can provide is hands-on training to your First Aid Attendant on their roles and responsibilities within your customized program.  This education will close an integral gap between the injury, investigation and potential lost time.

If your organization doesn’t already have a Recover At Work Program, REC will work with you to develop one which will successfully reduce recovery time and lost time costs, keeping injured workers at work to provide valuable services to your organization while performing light duties.

Should you have a program in place already and are looking for opportunities to maximize its effectiveness, REC will work with your leadership team to strategize potential solutions.  We’ll analyze your current communication systems in place to work with your injured team members, WorkSafeBC and Enhanced Disability Management Program (EDMP) to streamline your processes and determine what education is required.  From here, we’ll develop a training action plan customized to reduce your injuries, recovery time, lost time and experience rating.
